The Story

Leaving Montreal for Vancouver was a bit like turning a page, with both excitement and apprehension. Upon arrival, the first surprise was the weather. Yes, it rains often, but honestly, it's still milder and more pleasant than we imagined. That helps to get through the grey days. Much less biting cold, more green all year round, and that changes the mood. However, the cost of living in Vancouver… ouch. We definitely felt that one. Everything is expensive, very expensive, and it forces you to rethink a lot of habits. Clearly a shock after Montreal. But it's hard to deny that the nature is incredible. Ocean, mountains, forests, everything is within reach. And if you have a dog, it's almost paradise. Off-leash parks are everywhere, dogs are super welcome, and you can tell the city was really designed with them in mind. Despite all that, the vibe didn't quite grab us as much. For us, Montreal remains largely superior in terms of energy. There's more life, more spirit, more effervescence. Vancouver is beautiful, calm, very natural, but also a bit bland. You go there for the landscapes, not really for the urban buzz. In the end, no regrets about having tried the adventure. But Montreal holds a special place in our hearts, that of a lively, vibrant city that moves and brings people together.
