The Story

I arrived in Montreal from Nice with a lot of enthusiasm… and very few certainties. Obviously, the first shock was the weather 😅. The Quebec winter is talked about a lot, and frankly: it's no legend. But very quickly, I understood that this country also gives you something rare in return: real opportunities and an incredible quality of life. Professionally, I had to start from scratch. My European experience wasn't really taken into account at first, which can be frustrating when you arrive with several years behind you. So I restarted as a developer, humbly, with the desire to prove what I could do. And that's where Canada amazed me: even starting from the bottom, progress is astonishing when you work seriously. I climbed the ranks at a speed I never would have imagined in Europe, clearly supersonic compared to what I might have experienced in France. But Montreal isn't just about career. I loved the city's vibe, the genuine kindness of the people, the civic-mindedness, the respect in both professional and personal relationships. You feel that diversity isn't a marketing concept, but a daily lived reality. And then, there's the essential part: our daughter was born there. That will always make Montreal a special place in our lives, no matter where we go next. Immigrating is never simple. You have to accept questioning yourself, being patient, and stepping out of your comfort zone. But if you're ready for that, Quebec can offer you much more than you imagine. For me, Montreal will remain the symbol of a new beginning, accelerated professional and personal growth, and a deeply significant chapter in life.
